GENERAL SEASONAL UPDATE:
Old Man Winter is creeping into the Tahoe Basin and our sights have moved from floating the Truckee River to skiing the Tahoe slopes! Truckee River Taxi has expanded to offer year round taxi service in our new, safe, 4x4 rigs outfitted with fresh winter studded snow tires. So for all you people wanting to avoid the lines in the ski area parking lots, or if you're looking to avoid having to deal with chains on your own car...give us a call and set up your ride today. But for all of you eager-beavers who are already planning your float trip on the Truckee River in 2012, remember that Truckee River Taxi can pick you up at your house or hotel, take you to the river and back home again so you don't worry about driving, parking, or traffic at all! Our full size vans are big enough to accommodate groups of any size with your gear. Truckee River Taxi also does shuttle rides from the bottom to the top (before you float, so you "float toward your car" - works well with kayaks and paddleboards), as well as shuttle rides to the top after you float the river. If it works better for you to float with one of the commercial raft rental companies in Tahoe City, we offer round trip transportation to get you from your house or hotel to the check in location on the river. When it comes to rafting, it doesn't matter how you float the river, just that you get out there and enjoy it!

Our 2012 rafting season goals are to reduce the number of vehicles a single group needs to park along the river (eliminating the 2-car shuttle plan) and keeping the roads safe for everyone.

As the dam in Tahoe City opened several weeks past expected (due to heavy snowfall in the winter of 2010/2011 and rapid snowmelt in early summer of 2011), Truckee River Taxi also began providing day and night flat rate taxi service in North Lake Tahoe and inexpensive airport transfers to/from the Reno and Truckee Airports.
